DESCRIPTION:Gotan-ye is the celebration of birth of Shinran Shonin\, the founder of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. Shinran Shonin was born on May 21\, 1173. Gotan means birth and Ye means gathering. \nKeirokai is a yearly event honouring our members who are ‘Keiro’\, that is\, our senior\, experienced Sangha members.  DUE TO COVID-19 AND THE TEMPLE’S DESIRE TO KEEP OUR SENIORS SAFE\, THIS HAS BEEN CANCELLED UNTIL A LATER DATE. \n  \nAll of our services are open to everyone and no prior knowledge or experience with Buddhism is necessary. \nThe services are conducted in English except for some chanting. \nService books are provided so that everyone can participate in these traditional\, centuries old chants. \n
