Sangha Engagement

The Calgary Buddhist Temple Sangha Engagement is actively involved in hosting workshops, presentations, and events to promote social interaction, learning, and sharing. “Sangha Engagement” is pleased to provide a variety of in-person activities with the intention to keep people engaged and build a sense of “community” or Sangha.

Speaker: Sara Clark

Join the Sangha as we gather in the Temple lower level to learn about Mental Health and Self-Compassion. A lack of compassion for the self can play a role in mental health conditions. Many people find it difficult to feel self-compassion especially when it might be linked in the mind to self-pity or as undeserving. This self-judgment may lead to conditions such as anxiety, insecurity, or depression. Self-compassion, however, often allows people to accept their failures, move past them, and keep trying.

The Calgary Buddhist Temple Sangha Engagement has made arrangements to support the interdependence of life by providing a lunch service. We can leave after the service around 11:15am and walk over to the DI together or meet there at 11:30am.  Ten volunteers are required and the minimum age is 16 years old.

*If you are interested in sharing your background, knowledge or skill with the Temple Sangha, please email    Topics vary and the group interests are diverse so please consider volunteering!
