Temple Closure

Dear Dharma Friends,

With the recent advisement from the Alberta Chief Medical Officer and in consideration of the health and well-being of our community the Calgary Buddhist Temple has suspended all activities at the Temple until further notice.

The suspension of activities includes Sunday Service, Thursday Service, and Wednesday Meditation effective immediately.

We have also contacted the Shambhala Meditation Group, Kota Yoga, and Nosco Yoga to suspend their activities at the Temple until further notice.

Sensei Robert Gubenco will remain available for urgent religious services and we are looking into providing a Live Streaming Temple Service in the future.

Gassho (with palms together),

Namo Amida Butsu,

Hello – can you please confirm that there is no live services at the Temple? I don’t like to rely on websites as they seem to not always be accurate with all the changes going on.
I am new to your community and hopeful to connect as you are able and offer.

    Thank you,
    Cathy

Hello Cathy. Recently, the Temple has re-opened for Sunday service with a limited number of people allowed in the Temple, physical distancing and important COVID related precautions. Pre-registration is required to attend in-person and Temple services continue to be streamed online as well. Thank you for your inquiry! I hope you will consider attending a service or joining one of our on-line services via the Calgary Buddhist Temple Facebook group. Either way, you’d be most welcome!
