A family friendly volunteer opportunity to help at the Calgary Drop-In Centre Donation Centre which is located in the NE.

Volunteers MUST be aged 12 or older to participate. This is such a rewarding way to think of others!

This is the special day when all donations made on this particular day will go to the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temples of Canada (JSBTC) Women’s Federation (WF) Dana Day. These donations are consolidated with Temples across Canada and are directed specifically to national organization(s) promoting social welfare.

“Dana” is giving without thought of receiving something in return. The JSBTC Women’s Federation sincerely thank everyone who think of the challenges of others before themselves.

According to our tradition, the historical Buddha, Sakyamuni, was born in Lumbini Garden in Nepal on April 8, 566 B.C. He was born the son of King Suddohana and Queen Maya. There are many flowery descriptions of the scene at his birth, including celestial birds singing beautiful songs, beautiful flowers, and a sweet gentle rain bathing the baby Buddha.
