Join us for a 30 minute meditation time prior to our main service.
Everyone is welcome!
If you are interested in meditation but do not have a practice please come by 9:00 am and we can provide instruction to get you started.
Higan means ‘reaching the other shore of (awakening)’. It is a service of reflection and renewal.
Traditionally held on or near the equinox when day and night are of approximately equal duration all over the planet.
All of our services are open to everyone and no prior knowledge or experience with Buddhism is necessary.
The services are conducted in English with the exception of some chanting.
Service books are provided so that everyone can participate in these traditional, centuries old chants.
After service, every third Sunday, please come downstairs to browse through our Temple library while you have a cup of tea.
We invite you to sit and talk about a Buddhist book you’ve read.
A membership is $20.00 and books can be borrowed for a one month period.
