Upcoming Lecture Series…

will be on the chant Shoshinge (Hymn of True Entrusting Heart).  Shoshinge is the central chanting ritual in Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, composed by the founder Shinran Shonin (1173-1263).  Shinran ShoninIt expresses the essence of Shinran’s understanding of the Pure Land Path and the Nembutsu (Namo Amida Butsu). These lectures are on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:00pm at the Temple.

Lecture 1 – Introduction to Shoshinge (Sep 9)

Lecture 2 – Amida Buddha’s Vow (Sep 16)

Lecture 3 – Great Compassion (Sep 23)

November – Studying Shoshinge:

Lecture 4 – Nov 11 

Lecture 5 – Nov 18

Lecture 6 – Nov 23

      Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The dates aren’t on the posting but they are on the Calendar but it should have been both places to make it easier to find. These are held on Tuesdays – this post will be updated shortly.

    Will you be live casting or recording your Lecture Series on the Shoshinge on November 11, 18, and 23?

      Hello JW, the Shoshinge lecture series in November will not be live casting or recorded. Perhaps in the future it will be. For this lecture it will be in person at the temple.

      My apologies if this does not work with your current schedule.
